There are many things in our lives that we need to let go of.
Our brains are a bit of a funny thing. They seem to think that they are in control. But when we “think we know things” we are actually slowly starting to build walls to a box called “my life”. That box starts to limit us, and more than that, it starts to limit how our Father can operate in our lives.
Our heart is where our Father lives. It is to our hearts that he speaks. If we don’t live from our hearts, we cannot have an intimate relationship with Him. He cannot help us to get free if we are holding on to things that we have thought were ‘right’ for our whole lives.
For the most of my life I have been using my brain to make decisions. Is it wise to do something or not? I needed to know the facts in order to be able to make a decision. From our childhood, we have been taught how to do the right things and how not to do the wrong things. Everything is based on knowledge and wrongs and rights. I didn’t know that I could live from the heart. Now I believe that when our hearts are connected to Him, we automatically do the right things without them being “do’s and don’ts”.
What if we were to let go of the things that we think are right, and start to learn to feel and listen to our hearts? What if we just trusted our Father – that He has our lives in His hands and He takes care of us, even if we don’t know it all ?
There are many things in our lives that we just “do”. They might have been a part of us for a long time, and they might even have seem to be good things. but…. are you sure that all of them have your name on them? We might be doing good things, but if the good things do not have our name on it, then it is taking our time from the best thing that does have our name on it. Also, if you are doing something that has someone else’s name on it, you are hindering that person from being fulfilled.
We all have a special thing/things in our heart, a thing that is just for us to do, a thing that Father has put into your heart as you were born. When we live from our hearts, we know more and more clearly which things have our name on them, which things bring us life and then we become aware of the things that we really need to let go of. It is not always easy, especially if the thing has been our source of acceptance, being wanted or needed.
I used to be like that, I was always ready to help anyone, anytime, anywhere. It was a great feeling to be needed, accepted, valued. I have many skills, so I was able to do many things. But I was not meant to do all of them, in the end it drove me to having a burnout.
It is not easy to let go of things that have given us our value. If I let go, do people still value me? Am I needed? Am I accepted? It also does not help that there are always people who value you because of what you do.
What if you said “NO” to someone, and at the same time felt extremely accepted and valued, being 100% sure that the thing was not yours to do, even though someone else seemed to think you had to do it? That freedom is calling you.
This doesn’t mean that if something “not so nice” pops up, you can say: “no, that’s not for me”. You will always know it in your heart, whether it is yours to do or not.
I pray, that our Heavenly Father helps you let go of the things you need to let go, and that He helps you to go into your heart and start to get a feel of your own heart, the desires and dreams that He has put there for you!
